Byron and Revolution
20th-25th May 2019, Messolonghi, Greece
Proposals for 20 minute papers are welcomed on topics including:
– the French Revolution
– Napoleon and the Napoleonic Wars
– Byron as a political activist
– Byron and Greece
– ideas for social reform
– Byron’s views on historical change
– Byron and the Americas
– the Orient and Orientalism
– industry, commerce, money
– the reception of Byron’s poetry by revolutionary movements.
Proposals must be submitted by the 10th of February 2019.

The Byron Society is excited to announce three student bursaries of £300 each for travel and expenses relating to the 14th International Student Byron Conference “Byron & Revolution”.
Applicants for the bursaries must be undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in a university course in the UK.
Applications must include contact details for a referee at your university and the abstract for the paper you propose to give and the International Student Byron Conference.
