Location: The Byron-Scott lecture is at 50 George Square in the center of the university campus on the Southside. Room 1.06. We will aim to have someone on the door to usher you up if location is unclear.
In their life-time Scott and Byron had unprecedented international fame and enormously influenced later European literature and thought. In Britain their fame dipped in the twentieth century but now they are once again being taken seriously. This talk suggests why.
