Situated in picturesque Dumfries and Galloway, Ellisland was designed and built by Robert Burns in 1788, and many consider it the ‘place to fall in love with Burns’.

The museum collection includes various manuscripts and personal items owned by the poet, and Ellisland was the inspiration for a number of his most popular songs and poems.

The tour of the museum will be led by a local storyteller, and include traditional Scotch whisky and Bannock break.

Spaces are limited, as the Museum will only allow tours of 30 people, so please do book soon if you are interested.

Full details will be available closer to the time, but we will get you back to Glasgow in time for our a rest before our Annual Scotland Lecture (with Jane Stabler and Gavin Hopps)!
