17th December

The East India Club, 12.30-3.30pm

Join us for our annual Christmas lunch. This year’s festive celebration of Christmas and Byron will include a three course meal, wine, and a talk from the fabulous William St Clair, British historian, senior research fellow at the Institute of English Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, and author.

Tickets cost £35.00.

As the anniversary year of the first publication of Don Juan comes to an end, William St Clair will remind us of the books that made it, by far, the best selling work of the age.

He will show us some actual examples of the tiny piracies that enabled tens of thousand of readers to access Don Juan although they were cut off from most other new works of the time.

More details about the menu will be available shortly.

Spaces are limited, so if you would like to reserve your place early or have any questions, email contact@thebyronsociety.com or emily@p-m.uk.com
